Sell Applesauce ("we", "us") operates sell.applesauce.chat, a photo-to-listing tool for resellers. This policy describes what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

1.1 — Information You Provide

• Photos — Images you upload for analysis. These are sent to OpenAI for item identification and stored on our servers for your listing history.
• Email Address — Collected when you sign in via email-based magic link authentication (powered by Resend API). Used solely to identify your account. We do not use Facebook Login, Facebook OAuth, or any social login provider.

1.2 — Automatically Collected

• Listing Data — Item names, descriptions, categories, and suggested prices generated from your uploads.
• Session Cookies — Used to maintain your authenticated session. Sessions expire after 30 days.
• Usage Analytics — Anonymous page views, feature usage, and device type, used solely to improve the product.
• IP Address (Hashed) — A one-way hash for rate limiting and rough geographic analysis. We do not store raw IPs.
• Referrer & UTM Data — The referring URL and campaign parameters from inbound links, used for attribution.

We use collected information solely to operate and improve Sell Applesauce:

• Analyze uploaded photos and generate marketplace listings
• Research comparable sold prices from eBay, PriceCharting, and Mercari
• Estimate shipping rates via Pirate Ship
• Maintain and display your listing history
• Authenticate your account via email-based magic link (Resend API)
• Post listings to eBay or Facebook Marketplace when you explicitly choose to do so
• Analyze anonymous usage patterns to improve the product

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing.

We integrate with the following services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

3.1 — OpenAI (Image Analysis)

Photos are sent to the OpenAI API for AI-powered item identification. No personally identifiable information is shared beyond the image content. OpenAI Privacy Policy.

3.2 — Resend (Email Authentication)

We use Resend to deliver magic link authentication emails. Your email address is transmitted to Resend solely for this purpose. Resend Privacy Policy.

3.3 — eBay (Price Research & Listing)

We scrape publicly available eBay sold listing data for price comps. If you choose to post listings directly to eBay, their data handling applies. eBay Privacy Policy.

3.4 — PriceCharting (Fallback Pricing)

When eBay comps are unavailable, we query PriceCharting for market value data. No user-identifiable data is sent. PriceCharting Privacy Policy.

3.5 — Mercari (Price Comps)

We reference publicly available Mercari listing data for additional price comparisons. No user-identifiable data is shared. Mercari Privacy Policy.

3.6 — Pirate Ship (Shipping Rates)

We query the Pirate Ship API to estimate shipping costs for your items. Only package dimensions and weight are transmitted. Pirate Ship Privacy Policy.

Your data is stored on servers operated by applesauce.chat. Photos and listing data are retained until you request deletion (see Section 5). Data is shared with third parties only as described in Section 3 or as required by law.

• Deletion — Request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
• Access — Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.

Account deletion removes all personally identifiable data, including listings, photos, and linked analytics events. Anonymous aggregate analytics may be retained.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We strive to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy at any time. Changes are reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
